The Story I'll Tell Day 28

Scripture: Isaiah 48:17 This is what the Lord says—your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.

Devotional: If you’ve ever found yourself wondering which way to go, today’s passage gives encouragement. When you seek God, He will teach you what is best for you and direct you in the way you should go. It’s as simple as that.

Too often, many live life confused and aimless. Friend, this is not God’s plan. He specifically and clearly leads those whose hearts are set on following Him.

That doesn’t mean the going is always easy. We’ve seen in our devotions this week the challenges that many who have gone before us have faced.  To go when God calls is certainly an adventure, and sometimes even a hardship.  But it is one that is undoubtedly worth every risk, every fear, every apprehension.

Will you go when He calls?

Reflect:

  • Take time to pray today and listen for God’s call in your life. Whether it is a physical going, or simply to give yourself more fully to His purpose for you in sharing the Gospel, pray for Him to clearly direct your path and for the courage to follow Him no matter where He leads.

Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.

Devotional: No matter where you might be called to go, whether near or far, this passage is the ultimate call every believer must respond to.  Go, make disciples. That is the evidence of our own true faith, that we share the good news that has changed our life and help others to receive the salvation that has so generously been poured out on us.

When you go, God promises, He will be with you. Always,  But it’s only when you go.  God doesn’t promise to be with the faithless.  The promise of His presence accompanies the action of His faithful.

Reflect:

  • In what ways are you living out this great commandment?
  • How might you live it out even more?
