Part of our mission here at Sunnybrook Community Church is to “SEND those who will.”
This means providing opportunities for and supporting those who are ready and willing to go out into the world to share the truth and love of Jesus. We have a vision to be an unstoppable church that goes outside the walls into our local community and around the world, so that one day if we would cease to exist as a church people would notice.
It is our hope to incorporate this idea of “generous living” into every person here at Sunnybrook Church, that they would begin to live generously with their time, service, and money. With generous living comes this mindset of living every day on missionfor Christ and His Kingdom work.

GOING OUT INTO THE WORLD TO REACH THE NATIONS
Haiti: We have been serving in Haiti for close to 15 years and currently serve with three different organizations there:
Many Hands for Haiti in Pignon
United Christians International in Caiman
Touch of Hope in Simonette
Our partnerships focus around education, evangelism & discipleship, job creation, and community development. We take 4 trips there per year with 10-15 people serving on each team and goal of each trip to come alongside our partner organizations in one or more of these areas.
Israel: We partnered with the Willow Creek Association to bring the Global Leadership Summit to Nazareth in 2015. This, of course, focuses on developing leaders in the area, but we have also been able to develop other relationships with the Friends of Nazareth School. Each year a group of around 30 Sunnybrook members travel to the Holy Land to experience all it has to offer and continue building relationships.
World Vision: We originally partnered with World Vision to assist with the Syrian Refugee Crisis in 2016. We were inspired by the way they focus on community development across the nations, so are ready to partner with them more long-term by adopting a African community to assist in development.
India: Mission India focuses around evangelism and church planting, which is something we have yet to be involved in as a church. India is currently the fastest growing Christian country in the world, so we are excited about the opportunities that will arise from this partnership.
BEING THE LOCAL CHURCH IN OUR COMMUNITY BY SERVING THE "UNDERSERVED" AND "UNDER-RESOURCED"
Liberty Elementary School: Showing the love of Jesus to families on the West Side of Sioux City by parenting with Liberty Elementary to meet the needs of students and their families while developing long-term relationships.
Steven Ministries: Taking care of people right in our community by offering help and hope to those who may be struggling to make ends meet, whether it be with employment, housing, food, clothing, or education. Our new Street Medicine ministry is currently going out into the community twice a week to meet the homeless right where they are at and minister to them. We also have a vision for the near future to build a Care Center that would be an outlet for people in need to go and provide help with these situations
New Hope (Teri) Ministries: Providing hope to those who may be stuck in a valley of their life, but are looking for new beginnings. We are partnering with the Woodbury County Jail, Woodbury Halfway Homes, and Jackson Recovery to connect with these people who are ready to get back on their feet.
Community Outreach: If Sunnybrook would cease to exist, we pray that people and organizations in the community would notice. Our Mercy Ministry helps to meet immediate needs for those in the community who are seeking help. In addition, we have been able to develop a relationship with the city of Sioux City and other organizations serving our city over the past couple years where we work on house projects with Saturday Serve and come alongside other city initiatives.
