Peace Over Pan(dem)ic Day 5

main image

Scripture: Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.  Psalm 143:8

Devotional: Often in dark times, we can awaken in the morning to the harsh reality of what the world has become around us.  Whether that’s walking through the grief of a loved one who has been lost suddenly, the pain of financial ruin, or the hardships we are each facing with effects of  COVID-19, it can make it difficult to face the day.

This passage is a great encouragement with which to start each morning.

Before you even open your eyes, as you begin to stir and awaken to the new day, reciting and reflecting upon this passage can bring you hope and encouragement in what might have otherwise been a bleak start.  God’s Word is living and active and is powerful in dispelling the darkness you may face.  It’s the only offensive weapon we have in the armor of God listed in Ephesians 6: “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”( vs. 17)

With God’s Word you can vanquish your enemies, whoever and whatever they may be.  So start each day with this powerful reminder of His unfailing love, and declaration of your trust in Him.

It can make all the difference.

Reflect:

  • Commit to speaking this passage first thing every morning for the next week and see how it impacts your days.
