Take Me Back Day 12
Scripture: Revelation 1:7 Look, he is coming with the clouds,” and “every eye will see him, even those who pierced him”; and all peoples on earth “will mourn because of him.” So shall it be! Amen.
Devotional: Today’s passage was written by the apostle John, the youngest and last surviving apostle, who penned these words while in exile on the island of Patmos. An angel appeared to John and gave him the words of this revelation.
In part, he quotes Daniel’s vision in Daniel 7:13: “In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence.”
It’s interesting to observe that, although this revelation had much to say to the churches to whom it was to be sent, it begins with the promise that Jesus is coming again. And EVERY eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him.
What a glorious and living hope – our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ will be seen and acknowledged by all – even those who have denied His Lordship.
Philippians 2:10 says that “At the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” There will be no more denying; all will confess He is Lord.
He is Lord!
- On that day, will you mourn for joy, for at last, all know and confess Christ as Lord? Or will you mourn from grief, because you did not acknowledge Him as Savior and Lord?
