Scripture: Genesis 6:22 Noah did everything just as God commanded.
Devotional: Obedience isn’t a word that we often hold in high esteem. In fact, at times it is perceived negatively, as it alludes to someone having power over us. And that isn’t something that most of us enjoy.
There is, however, a positive side to obedience. When we have a benevolent Master, One in whom we trust, we find that obedience brings freedom. We see that clearly in Noah’s story.
Noah was obedient to God, doing everything that God commanded him. There’s no doubt that obedience cost him in some ways. But it also brought salvation for him and his family. Although he was misunderstood and criticized year after year because of his convictions, what he received as a result was of far greater value.
