Scripture: Habakkuk 1:13 Your eyes are too pure to look on evil;
you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.
Why then do you tolerate the treacherous?
Why are you silent while the wicked
swallow up those more righteous than themselves?
Devotional: Justice. We all want it, don’t we? There’s something so innate in us that when we see wrongdoing, our desires deep within us want to see it made right. And when that doesn’t happen, we often question or blame God.
The prophet Habakkuk felt that, and we see his not-so-inner questioning of God amid his frustrations.
Friend, you can do the same. When God seems silent, and you’re struggling with it all, cry out to Him. Ask Him the hard questions. Tell Him your innermost struggles. Pray for justice.
He is faithful. Even when it’s not in our time or according to our plan, His plan is greater. Trust Him.
