Devotional: Think about the mystery of the Creator becoming part of the created.
Jesus was with God in the beginning, and through Him, all things were created. As the Word (logos), when God spoke the light, sky, land, vegetation, fish and animals into existence, when He created mankind in His image, Jesus was the Word through which these things came into existence.
And now, He humbled himself in such a way as to become a man. Why? Because of love. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. That whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).
As we consider God’s perspective when it comes to the birth of Christ, we cannot overlook the most compelling of all reasons for Jesus to come to earth: LOVE. God is love. And Christmas is evidence of that.
