Scripture: Colossians 3:12-14 “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
Devotional: Maintaining a culture of purity in your marital relationship is a choice you make daily - a choice to love and honor your spouse. As you treat them daily with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience, and you overlay that with forgiveness, you have a perfect recipe for a beautiful marriage.
God intends for marriage to be a perfect reflection of His love for His bride, the Church – which is us. He laid down His life for us. And when we learn to live sacrificially for our spouse, we most reflect His love and glory.
Reflect:
- How would you rate your marriage when it comes to reflecting the love of Christ for His bride?
