Day 3 What God Can Do Through Ordinary You

April 09, 2024

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we carry this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.

Devotional: One of the things I love most about Moses’ story is how ill-equipped he seemed to be for the task God called him to. By his own admission, he was slow in speech and tongue (Exodus 4:10-12), lacking the natural ability to speak articulately. And God was calling him to publicly speak with the Egyptian Pharoah on behalf of all Israel!

Moses’ story is a great example of the truth that God doesn’t call the equipped, He equips those He calls. Moses begged God to send someone else, but through his weakness, God’s power was on display. We see that in Moses’ life, and I pray you see that in yours.

You carry a great treasure – the Gospel of Jesus Christ – and God has specifically chosen you to share it, despite any misgivings you may have.  The only caveat?  Saying yes to Him, and along the way, learning to step out of your insecurity and into His faithfulness.

Reflect:

  • What perceived inabilities keep you from responding to God’s call?
  • How might Moses’ story encourage you?
