Scripture: Proverbs 3:1-6 “My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.”
Devotional: If there was ever a mantra for living your best life, this passage from Proverbs contains great wisdom in being able to do so. As you embrace Jesus’ teaching, make His will your own, and walk faithfully with Him, He promises His favor.
That doesn’t mean you won’t face challenges or difficulties, but it does mean He will direct your path, even through the dark valleys. He will be with you and deliver you, bringing beauty from ashes, a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair, and a return to joy that will cause you to live for the display of His glory (Isaiah 61).
