Day 10 What God Can Do Through Ordinary You

April 16, 2024

Scripture: Genesis 6:9Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God.

Devotional:  We learn through today’s passage that one of the reasons God used Noah is that he was blameless among the people of his time. This is remarkable considering what we saw in Genesis 6:5, that, “The Lord saw how man's wickedness on the earth had become and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.”

Noah stood out in that he was willing to go against the flow. The hearts of all men at that time were wicked. But Noah’s heart remained inclined toward God. He walked faithfully with God when all others had walked away.

Noah can be an encouragement to you and me as we see the wickedness of man and the results of evil hearts increasing on the earth. His life is a cautionary encouragement to walk with God faithfully, even when all others around us are not.

Reflect:

  • What difficulties do you face in trying to walk with God in a world that is hostile to Him?
  • How might Noah’s example encourage you?
