Scripture: Isaiah 40:31 … but those who wait upon the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Devotional: When you’re in a waiting season, it’s nice to have a promise to hold onto. Today’s passage holds that promise. When you wait on the Lord, your strength will be renewed and eventually you will soar, much like an eagle. You will no longer be weighed down by the burden of your waiting. You’ll have endurance like you’ve never known.
Those are some pretty good promises to treasure as you patiently endure. Perhaps you’ve experienced disappointment amid your waiting. But remember, if God always met your expectations, He’d never have the opportunity to exceed them.
